Nails of the moment! Essie in Cascade Cool

Hallo beauties! I am big on nails. I pretty much can't go without nail varnish. I feel naked. I recently got this beautiful Essie shade that came along with ELLE magazine. Its regular price is about 10E but I got this for 5,90. Bargain right?

Cool Cascade is a blue toned lilac-ey pastel pink. It is quite a 'bright' pastel and I love it to bits. It's application is amazing to be honest, as it needs only to coats, just to be sure, to achieve an opaque finish. It looks and feels very creamy and luxurious.

I generally love the Essie nail varnishes as they don't seem to chip on me(for some weird reason) and they last long. The colour range is amazing and there's always something for everyone's taste.
So if you want to channel your inner 'Barbie', check this out. It being an Elle freebie, makes it quite a bargain. I am planning on getting a couple more, as the shades are gorgeous. I'm just looking for the shades that I like best.

What do you think of this shade? Have you purhased any Essie nail polishes recently? Which one is your favourite?

The nail varnishes of the moment!

Hello gorgeous people!
Another post, this one being about the nail varnishes I've been using like crazy for the past 3 or 4 weeks!

Photobucket

ERRE DUE Last Minute - 31
Lovely orangey, red *tomato red, as I like to call it* The application goes on very smooth and dries very quick!

ERRE DUE Exclusive - 133
This is like a baby, powdery blue, almost like a Robin's Egg blue, which is one of my favourite blue hues! Again as with the rest of the ERRE DUE nail polishes, the application is very smooth! They're affordable too, at around the 5E price tag!

H&M - Dollar Green
The mint green trend never gets old, for spring an summer! This baby was cheap, costing me no more than 3E and it looks a-mazing!!!

MAC - Love & Friendship
I am soooo gutted this has been discontinued, as it's probably my all time favourite colour in my nail varnish collection! It's such a lovely and lady-like lilac-ey colour and more warm and pink toned than the next one!

H&M - Temptress
This is more cool toned and more pastel looking than the previous one. I actually bought it to get over my sadness, because the MAC one is running out. Not the same, but still a gorgeous lilac-ey colour.

OPI - Color of the Zen-tury
This is one of my all time favourite nail varnishes! It's like a mauvey gray, with hints of very fine sparkle in it! It looks great during winter but I find it ideal for when I'm a little bit more tanned during the summer! This is probably the most expensive out of the batch, costing me a dreadful 15E from Sephora!

What do you think of the nail varnishes girls? Do you like them? Have you tried any of them? Photobucket

spring 2012 nail polish colour trends - favourites

Hello everyone!
Spring is definitely here, although last week has been a bit of a bummer since it's been rainy and grey. Now, I love nail polish and I think it can definitely complete the look of an outfit. Spring gives us the change to venture into more colourful hues, which I absolutely adore, so I've accumulated my favourite trends from the runways and I'm showing you girls...
So, let's start!

1. BLUES
Photobucket I can't even count the times, that I've said blue is my favourite colour. This spring, blue hues will be all over fashion as well as beauty from baby blue and cobalt blue to navy. This is a trend that will stay with us for a while and one that I will definitely try.

2.TANGERINE
Photobucket
For the past few seasons, tangerine and orange have been a HOT trend going on. They are vivid, brighten up the whole outfit AND your mood. This is surely a trend that will be very popular this spring.
(deborah lippmann - Lara's Theme, Essie - Orange, It's Obvious, OPI - Brights Power, Essie - A bright orange)

3.NEON/BRIGHTS
Photobucket
Brights have always been on trend during spring. This year is no exception. Neon colours are popular as well, only this year they've taken a more, kind of modern twist to them. This year's neons are creamier and more grown-up. Definitely not the highlighter hues that we were used to before.

4.PASTELS
Photobucket
Pastels will always be on trend for spring. They look so chic and sophisticated! Nothing more to say here. End of!
(RGB - Vellum, China Glaze - Lemon Fizz, China Glaze - For Audrey, Essie - Hot as hello)

5.GREENS
Photobucket
Greens are a huge trend this year with an emphasis on Pistachio Green for spring. Last year may have been the year of mint green but this year, Pistachio takes its glorious place. Oh it's such a lovely and sophisticated colour!
(Essie - Nagivate Her, Nicole by OPI - Ladies in the Limelight, RGB - Dew, butter london - dosh)

6.FUCHSIA
Photobucket
I have recently started to like Fuchsia on my nails. No, I mean REALLY like it. I think it's a modern version of the classic red in my eyes! This spring's runways have seen a lot of fuchsia on the model's nails and it's definitely something that I'm going to stick to! It adds the right ammount of edgyness and femininity.
(Chanel - Rose Insolent, deborah lippmann - Sweet Dreams, Dior - Lucky, Essie - Tour de Finance)

7.NUDES
Photobucket

Last but not least, a staple for spring, nude colours have been on trend for several years now. Think more heart-warming, earth-ey tones that elongate your fingers. This one screams sophistication and femininity!
(Essie - Sand Tropez, butter london - Yummy Mummy, deborah lippmann - before he cheats, OPI - Let Them Eat Rice Cake)

**Images are not mine. They are courtesy of Dior, Essie, Deborah Lippmann, OPI, Sephora, China Glaze, RGB, Chanel, butter london and there's a couple that I found on google. Although I did put the effort to make the collages by myself xD**

Which trend is your favourite? Have you tried any of these? If not, are you planning to? Please let me know in the comments section below :)
Have a wonderful weekend!
